Static & Dynamic Calibration
Two different calibration methods, determined by OEM procedure — not by what's convenient. We run whichever one your vehicle actually requires, including both when a system calls for it.

Static Calibration
Target boards are set up at precise, OEM-specified distances and angles from the vehicle in a level, clear space. The vehicle stays stationary while the system is aimed against the targets.
Road Test
Dynamic Calibration
The vehicle is driven under OEM-specified conditions — a defined speed range, visible lane markings, sometimes a minimum duration — while the system self-calibrates during the drive.
Some vehicles and systems require only one procedure. Others require a static aim first, followed by a dynamic drive to complete the calibration.

Common Questions
How do I know if my vehicle needs static, dynamic, or both?
It's determined entirely by OEM procedure for that specific make, model, and system — not something a shop can guess at. We confirm the required procedure before scheduling the job.
Does dynamic calibration work in any weather?
Some OEM dynamic procedures specify conditions — visible lane markings, minimum visibility, a workable speed range. If conditions on the day aren't right for a required drive cycle, we'll be upfront about it rather than force a calibration that won't hold.
Where does static calibration happen — my shop or somewhere else?
Static calibration needs a level, clear space with room to set up target boards at OEM-specified distances. We coordinate that directly with your shop when we schedule the job.
Can a single vehicle need both procedures?
Yes — it's common. Some systems require a static aim first, then a dynamic drive cycle to complete the calibration.
